I would not personally stay in Shinjuku (note that it has the world’s busiest train station!) unless otherwise it is at Park Hyatt Tokyo although it will be closed from May 7th 2024 until autumn in 2025.

I have worked in Shinjuku, taken Shinjuku Station almost every week, and based on my personal observation, Nishi-Shinjuku is definitely the safest area within Shinjuku. This is where you can find the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Park Hyatt, as well as Tokyo’ Skyscraper Buildings.
